Angel Road

The Angel Road is found near the Tonosho port of Shodoshima Island in the Seto Inland Sea. It is a small strip that connects the mainland to three small islands just off the shoreline, and only revealed during low tide twice a day. Legend has it that walking the Angel Road hand in hand with your significant other is supposed to bless that relationship. It could just be good tourism marketing, but it hasn’t stopped couples from leaving their love declarations hanging all around the island. It is quite a beautiful scenic spot nonetheless whether you choose to walk the road alone, in a group, or with a partner. Head up to the lookout point overlooking the Angel Road called Yakusoku no Oka, or the Hill of Promise.
