The Echizen coast is a strip of beach that leads from Tsuruga, Fukui Prefecture, up to Cape Echizen and Tojinbo. Here you will find the largest colony of narcissus flowers within Japan, a local attraction. They are in full bloom from December until March and in late January every year there is a Narcissus Festival. In addition to the flowers, nearby on the Echizen Coast there is a cave called Kocho-mon. This cave is 15m high and 30m wide and was created via erosion caused by the wind and waves. In the past it was used as a natural tunnel and currently there is a path installed so you can walk close to the large cave.
This coast allows visitors to enjoy fresh seafood all the year around. Echizen crab in winter is especially famous. Please visit the place to taste it!
