Lake Kasumigaura

Kasumigaura is the second largest lake in Japan located in Ibaraki prefecture. Surprisingly, the area covers one third of Ibaraki prefecture. It is known as a spot where many creatures such as wild birds, migratory birds, water plants and fish live, and is also famous as a fine fishing spot. Since there are sightseeing boats and Hobiki-bune, Japanese boat with a mast, you can enjoy the landscape from the lake. The view with birds above the shiny water and ships is beautiful and it is elected as 100 Landscapes of Japan. Around this area, various events such as a marathon race and fireworks festival are held all year around.
