Miho-no-matsubara

The ocean waves rushing ashore, the bright blue sky, and there stands Fujisan with poise behind the green of the pine grove. This is the legendary spot where the celestial maiden wearing a raiment has descended. Since ancient times, this scenic landscape has been depicted in many art forms such as poetry, paintings and ukiyo-e. The area has influenced many pieces of artwork, and has been registered as a World Heritage Asset.
